Your new role: The Business Development Director will support a culture of passion, integrity, accountability, and “doing it better.” This role is responsible for driving growth within the existing customer base using strong commercial and technical relationships to deliver winning proposals based upon overall value, innovation, and excellence. The Business Development Director will work collaboratively to harmonize systems, procedures, and capabilities. Your tasks consists of: Lead, define, implement, and execute a sales strategy for the site in collaboration with the Managing Director and NA Senior Management team.Forecast and report on sales pipeline activities in alignment with our growth strategies and resources, including active quotations. Identify and coach tactics deliver winning, technical, value-added, proposals. This includes strategies for quoting multi-component assemblies and value-add assembly systems. Manage new pricing and communicate pricing changes due to resin cost fluctuation, market inflation, and/or overall business opportunity. Ensure successful completion of new mold and & ECN development activities. Facilitate development of engineering competencies in DFM, CAD modifications, fill simulation, quoting, tooling strategies, quality requirements, scientific molding, automation tactics, etc. This includes driving research of new technologies to continue expanding engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Develop Innovation Center competencies in North America. This includes working closely with other global Rosti Innovation Center resources to identify strategies to further expand upon the current collaborative resource plan for North America. Strategic support of Automation Initiatives to help prioritize new projects, continuous improvement opportunities and work cell integration. Leadership of tooling resources for new mold, ECN, and preventative maintenance activities. This includes continuous improvement of tooling guidelines and specifications, as well as support of a robust regional and overseas tooling vendor network to quote, build, and support new molds. Approval of purchase requisitions and invoices for department tools, equipment, and supplies. Who are we looking for? Management Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a degree in Business and/or Engineering. Additionally, they will have 10 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Leadership & Team Development: Demonstrated ability to identify resource strategies and lead a diverse team to obtain results. Human Capital: Proven track record of identifying, growing, and retaining top Sales & Engineering talent. Continuous Improvement: Proficiency using metrics to monitor and improve performance. Experience in lean manufacturing, 5-S, and Six Sigma principles is highly beneficial. Business Acumen: Ability to manage a variety of sales and engineering initiatives while monitoring project expenses and overall risk. Willingness to engage and motivate other functional leaders to support key department objectives. Ability to manage commercial and contract negotiation. Financial Acumen: Multi-part/assembly quoting, financial and margin analysis, ROI and payback analysis around capital deployment. Communication Skills: Excellence in both written and verbal communication across all levels of both external and internal channels. A key characteristic includes the ability to discern and choose the appropriate communication tactics to realize the desired result.
