Do you want to be part of designing our future? We are now recruiting a Junior Designer to our head office in Alvik, Stockholm, Sweden. The position is a permanent full-time position and will report to the Head of Design. Haglöfs develops clothing, footwear and hardware for people who invest in an active outdoor lifestyle. Born in Sweden in 1914, Haglöfs has from small-scale backpack manufacturing developed into one of the world’s leading suppliers of technical and sustainable outdoor products by means of modern product development and strategic distribution. With more than 100 years of experience from the outdoors the brand represents high quality and reliability and is frequently awarded for its design and innovation. The Haglöfs brand is primarily marketed to 22 European and Asian markets and the company employs more than 200 people. The Haglöfs head office is situated in Alvik, Stockholm. As Junior Designer Apparel you will as a part of the Haglöfs design team, create and develop designs against given briefs and philosophies. The Design team are developing the design language and DNA of Haglöfs, to build upon the legacy and reputation of the brand. It is therefore an exciting role that requires enthusiasm, positivity and a respect of the Haglöfs brand position. The Junior Designer will be a part of the overall designwork and responsible for own designs and realize the Haglöfs Design Philosophy and Aesthetic Language in all finished products. Through development and encouragement the objective is always to be proud of our work and ensure it meets the premium standards of Haglöfs. The role requires an aptitude that is open to new ideas and design aspects. This role is on a journey of design professionalism and will be supported, nurtured and developed to be a best practice design professional in the outdoor industry. The role will develop contemporary best practice insight into our consumer segmentation preferences, motivations and will ensure that new designs delight our core consumers. The role has an evolving and learning consideration for the Haglöfs Sustainability strategy ensuring that product designs positively contribute towards our objectives. The Junior Designer Apparel reports to the Head of Design. The main responsibilities and tasks: Based on the season’s schedule, design concepts and product ideas according to brief and aesthethic guidelines. Design products and develop and update detailed tech packs. Update seasonal colorcards, trims library and zip library. Take part of the materialprocess and, together with material team, select materials for each product. Responsible for design work following the posted process and schedule for the season. Responsible for handing over to pattern and developer department for sample development. Attend to fittings and tests to ensure design intentions in the ongoing development work. Actively work for cost-effective design solutions and continuously deliver ideas that can lead to margin improvements on established products. Actively participate and conduct product presentations at milestone meetings. Continuously keep abreast of competing actors and consumer trends in Outdoor. Skills & Requirements We are looking for a person who aspires to be a part and contribute to the design and development processes within clothing and has a genuine interest in outdoor products and lifestyle. To be successful in this role we believe you should: Have 2-5 years of experience from product design, preferably within clothing in the outdoor industry Be able to think and work holistically as well as hands-on Be creative and solutions oriented Be structured and able to plan ahead Have a general understanding of the outdoor and retail business value chain Have experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Have experience in PLM, Centric 8 Experience of 3D, for ex. CLO is a plus
